Pine by Design Website
My mom opened a gift shop at the beginning of last year. I was more than happy when she asked me to do some design work for her. I created her logo, business cards, building signs and flyers.
The store has been doing great but as a web designer, I knew that her store would do even better if she had a website where she could post information about new products and upcoming events. She finally let me talk her into it so I decided to design it as a Mother’s Day gift to her.
Since I designed so much of her previous work, it was easy for me to come up with a color scheme. I used the same green, yellow and red from the other designs to stick with the theme of her shop, keeping it nice and simple. One of her requests was that the site include a visual calendar to keep track of the upcoming events of her store as well as holidays where people would be more likely to buy gifts for their loved ones.
The entire purpose of the website, though, was to give her the ability to alert her customers of new items in the store, so we put together a blog that is used as a newsletter, which automatically emails everyone who has signed up for the newsletter of each new post. I also added an easy newsletter sign up form that automatically adds the email address of each new sign up to the list. It is all completely automated making it incredibly easy for my mom so that she can focus on running her store, not her website.
