Dancin’ on the Rim 2009 Program
I’ve been working with Dancin’ on the Rim as an instructor for three years now and this year, knowing that my “other job” was web and graphic design, they asked me to design the programs.
Each year, we have a dance program that is provided to each person who attends the recital. It has a list of the dances with the students who participate in each, a list of the people that have helped the studio throughout the year and at the recital, and they have an advertising section for local businesses.

This year’s theme was “Bling it On” so there was no doubt as to what I would be decorating the program with: diamonds! I also used lots of stars and even found a really cool font with stars cut out of the lettering (you can see that I used that font for the show title on the cover page). Dancin’ on the Rim even added a little extra something by printing the outside cover on hot pink paper, which really added to the visual appeal.

Because I had to type out the dance titles and names, as well as many of the advertisements, in addition to the designing and formatting, the program took me 15 hours to put together. It was worth the extra time, though, because they were a real hit at the recital!
