Sound Life Education Coursebook

Today I finally finished a project that I have been working on for months and I’m so excited to finally share the completed project.

Sound Life Education is a company that provides an adult education for people in need of information on life & retirement planning, lending, credit repair & credit building, money management & budgeting and real estate investing.  Their goal was to create a coursebook that included several DVD’s of the classes provided by their company and matching guide worksheets, all to be provided to their clientele in a professional, organized and visually appealing manner.  I was up for the task!

In total, I designed:

  • Side Insert
  • Front Cover
  • Welcome Letter with Founder Picture
  • Formatted Approximately 60 Pages of Text
  • Labeled 5 Tabs
  • 6 CD Labels
  • Referral Postcards
  • Certificate

Here are some images of the final product:

As you may have noticed on my portfolio, I’ve already completed several designs for this company.  They were just starting out about six months ago when they hired me to complete all of their design work.  I started off by designing their logo, which I drew by hand and then hired an outside graphic artist to turn it into a vector image.  Then I used that logo as the basis for their website and business card.  And now, I’ve used the logo and website to put together this coursebook.

In order to create a crisp, professional appearance, I used white as the backdrop color and then I chose different shades of blue to create a feeling of comfort and ease.  I chose the curved line to separate the colors because…well, I’d always wanted to do that for something!  It worked out well, cupping the logo quite beautifully.  It took me about 30 hours of design work to complete and the client was very happy with the design.  Needless to say, it was a great accomplishment for all of us.
